Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger praised his side’s fighting spirit after the Gunners scored twice in the final two minutes to secure a last-gasp Champions League victory at Anderlecht.
The Belgian outfit were the better side throughout the 90 minutes, and deservedly went in front midway through the second-half.
But a late burst of pressure saw the hosts crumble at the back, with Kieran Gibbs and substitute Lukas Podolski netting in the 89th and 90th minutes to rescue a precious 2-1 victory on Wenger's 65th birthday.
And with the win taking their points tally up to six, just three behind Group D leaders Borussia Dortmund, Wenger believes his side are in a commanding position to qualify for the knock-out stages.
"We kept going and managed to score two good goals because we had the spirit and refused to lose the game," Wenger told Sky Sports 1.
"Anderlecht played well tonight and you see that this country produces top-class players.
"It was vital for us to have a chance to qualify. We are in a strong position now - it's in our hands.
"Galatasaray and Anderlecht have only one point, we have six and Borussia Dortmund nine, so it's down to us now to win our home games and we are through.
"Dortmund can be a tough opponent. We now play Anderlecht at home.
"Let's just qualify and then we will see how far we can go."
