Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has lavished praise "great individual talent" Ayoze Perez after the Spanish Under 21 international scored the winner during the 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday 26 October.

The Magpies come from behind an Emmanuel Adebayor's first half-goal to secure their second victory of the Premier League at Tottenham and lift out from the relegation zone.

Spurs controlled the game during the first-half but Pardew's substitutions at half-time let Newcastle coming from behind thanks to the goals of Sammy Ameobi and Perez.

The 21-year-old striker moved to St James Park this summer for £2m after proving to be a sensation in the Spanish second division last season, scoring 16 goals in 34 appearances.

Perez has since impressed in a number of cameos as a late sub while Pardew handed his full debut at White Hart Lane.

The Spaniard respond to the managers confidence scoring his first goal of the campaign, heading a cross from Remy Cabella.

Speaking about the Spaniard after the game, Pardew said: "He is a really great individual talent."

"He hasn't quite got the strength and power that you associate with the Premier League but that will come to him. He has worked really, really hard."

"He goes to Spain tonight to an awards ceremony and hopefully he might pick up an award or two there. We are so pleased with him today. The players love him so they were really made up that he scored the winner."
