Liverpool loanee Joao Carlos Teixeira says he is working hard at Brighton & Hove Albion to earn a return to Anfield in the future.
The 21-year-old Portuguese star moved to Liverpool in February 2012 after excelling against the Reds in the NextGen series while at Sporting Lisbon.
Teixeira has since progressed at Liverpool academy, earning his first-team debut during the Premier League win at Fulham last season.
Brendan Rodgers opted to send him on loan to Brighton to secure more playing time under the stewardship of former Liverpool star Sami Hyypia.
Teixera has made an impressive start to the campaign at the Championship side, making 15 appearances in all competitions and chipping in with two goals.
The Portuguese attacking midfielder says he is enjoying his time abroad but admits his dream is still to have a future at Anfield.
"I've been improving my numbers and hopefully I'll score more and give more assists. Of course I want to go back to Liverpool [in the future] but I know I have to work every day," he said to Liverpool official website.
"It has been a great move for me, making some assists and scoring goals. It's about numbers, football is about statistics.
"[Hyypia] always tells me the way to work and how I can do it. He gives me advice to keep going. He is a legend at Liverpool and a really nice guy as well, as a person and a manager."
Meanwhile, Hyypia has hailed his adaptation to Brighton but expects him to be more consistent to help his side to climb from their current 20th place.
"He has done well. He is a good player. But he is young and sometimes with youngsters, the performances are not consistent. He will need to work on consistency and the will to improve himself every day. I'll be on top of him," the manager said.
