Lee Gregory fired Millwall back to winning ways as they beat Brighton 1-0 at the Amex to relieve the pressure on Ian Holloway.
The game’s only goal came from Gregory as he latched onto a loose ball inside the box to coolly lift his effort over Brighton stopper David Stockdale after 15 minutes.
That strike appeared to wake the hosts up and they began to dominate only to be denied by the in-form David Forde, who saved from Jake Forster-Caskey and Joao Teixeira smartly in the first half.
On-loan Aston Villa striker Darren Bent had two chances to bring the Seagulls level. First he collected Teixeira’s through ball but he could only find the side-netting, then minutes later he could only place his header wide of the post. But it was Solly March who had the hosts' best opportunity, as he met Adam Chicksen’s cross but he could only volley well wide of the far post from 12 yards.
The hosts were left to rue their missed opportunities as they failed to win for the fifth consecutive game to heap more pressure on Sami Hyypia.
