Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino believes his side could have shocked Premier League leaders Chelsea had Harry Kane taken his early chance at Stamford Bridge.

Kane struck the crossbar with an early header before goals from Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba and substitute Loic Remy inspired the Blues to victory.

But Pochettino was left to lament the England Under-21 international's miss - amid an impressive start to the game from Tottenham - as the club's two-game winning run came to an end in west London.

"We started very well," the manager said. "We had some chances to score. But after they scored and the game changed, that was the difference tonight. I am very disappointed with the result but I have to take some positives from the game.

"If we would have scored [Kane's chance] the game would have been different and we would be talking about a different game."

Nevertheless, the Argentinian boss admitted he was disappointment with the result which extended Tottenham's winless run at Chelsea.

"We faced a very good team but it is my responsibility," he added. "This is football. Sometimes it is difficult to explain. We have to accept it. But I am not happy. I am disappointed with the result,"

"But we believed. We showed we believed in getting a positive result from here. The first chance they created they scored, the second they had, they scored."
