Latest: Preston North End 1-1 Manchester United
Goal: Preston North End 1-1 Manchester United (Ander Herrera)
United level after 65 minutes and it comes via a controversial Ander Herrera goal. Young's pull-back comes the way of Herrera who sorts his feet out and while his shot evades Rooney, who is in an offside position, the England captain is in the goalkeeper's line of sight before it rolls into the corner. Stuckmann fuming.
More pressure from United. Young's low cross finds Fellaini who brings the ball down and Huntington makes a brilliant block tackle before the ball drops to Stuckmann.
The pressure has no doubt swelled from United and Preston are on the rack a little. Valencia's cross is header clear of Fellaini by Clarke and the rebound is knocked on by Rooney, only for Stuckmann to make the save. Ashley Young on for Radamel Falcao. A non-existent performance.
Preston should be two up. A free-kick goes over Kevin Davies and Tom Clarke is free at the back post but he miss-judges the cross and can't get enough power on the volley to beat De Gea. Big chance.
Is the cup-set on? Preston certainly do and they lead Manchester United after 47 minutes. The ball is fed out to Scott Laird who takes aim from 18 yards and the ball is deflected off Valencia and that forced De Gea into a handling error and the ball flies into the back of the net.
Teams out for the second half at Deepdale. No changes. It can only get better can't it?
Half time: Preston North End 0-0 Manchester United
Goalless and chance-less and Deepdale at half time where Preston are frustrating Premier League Manchester United. Preston look spirited by they're not showing much ambition going forward while United look ponderous and slow on the ball. Becoming something of a trend.
First shot on target? Paul Gallagher shoots from 20 yards and De Gea makes an easy save. Stoppage time almost up at the end of the first half.
Not much in the way of chances at either end. Stuckmann and De Gea have been bystanders for most of this first half and that isn't improving as the first 45 minutes starts to come to an end.
United's big two summer signings are looking more forlorn as their career in the Premier League continues. Falcao looks isolated while Di Maria has produce all his hard work 40 yards from the Preston goal. He gets within range on the left but his attempted cross balloons over.
Best chance so far? Gallagher's free-kick from the left and Garner jumps attempts to flick on from eight yards but gets it horribly wrong and it goes over the top.
Not a game with a plethora of chances in the early moments, which I am not sure either side will be too worried about. A United free-kick from the right is a good one from Angel di Maria but Falcao can't get onto it.
Lots of justifiable criticism has come the way of Angel di Maria of late but he has the chance to make amends with a free-kick 25 yards out and despite Stuckmann being rooted to the spot, the ball curls wide harmlessly.
First shot on goal from either side comes from Preston North End as Joe Garner who, as anyone who watched the play-off semi-finals last season, has a wicked shot on him but this one is tame and De Gea makes an easy save. At the other end, Rooney tries to play through Fellaini but his pass is misdirected.
Kevin Davies already a nuisance for Manchester United and he wins a free-kick after a foul by Daley Blind but the ball in towards the England international is too long and Preston waste the chance to put pressure on.
Meanwhile, teams are out at Deepdale and we're ready for kick-off. Great atmosphere, particularly after the club's support discovered the victor hosts Arsenal in the quarter-final.
Preston are two-time winners of the FA Cup but their last success came back in 1938 and represents the last time the club won a major trophy. They're just three wins away from matching that amazing feat against the record winners of the trophy in Manchester United, who have not won the trophy since 2004, the only time this century.
