Tottenham striker Harry Kane believes the White Hart Lane outfit can finish above arch rivals Arsenal in the Premier League this season.
The English striker was speaking after the Spurs defeated the Gunners 2-1 on Saturday, where Kane scored both the goals. This result catapulted Mauricio Pochettino's team one point above Arsenal, as both teams are vying for a place in the top four along with Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton.
The Emirates Stadium outfit have finished above their fierce north London rivals on every occasion since Arsene Wenger's arrival, but have come close to changing that on a few occasions in recent seasons. However, the Frenchman always made sure that his team finish above Tottenham.
The Lilywhites have been in good form recently owing to the fine goal scoring form of Kane, who has come through the youth ranks at Tottenham. He has scored 22 goals in all competitions for Spurs this season making him the top marksmen in England. Wenger has urged the Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson to call-up the striker to the senior squad following his impressive performances this season.
The 21-year-old striker believes that his club have a great chance of claiming a top four place if they finish above Arsenal this season.
"There seems to be an opportunity to finish above Arsenal every season then come the end it doesn't happen," Kane said, as quoted by the Mirror.
"But that's not the only thing. It's not just finishing above Arsenal, we want to finish as high as we can."
"If we finish above Arsenal, of course we've got a great chance of finishing in the top four because Arsenal have been up there for so many years," the Tottenham striker explained.
