talkSPORT’s French football expert Julien Laurens believes Manchester United target Edinson Cavani would be available for around £40million this summer.
The Uruguay striker has been linked with a big money switch to Old Trafford at the end of the season, following Radamel Falcao's disastrous loan spell at the Red Devils.
Robin van Persie’s future with Louis van Gaal’s side is also far from certain, and Laurens claims the 28-year-old would be a perfect replacement for the pair at the Premier League giants.
“Edinson Cavani is a bit unhappy at PSG,” he told the Sports Bar. “He's being played as a left or right winger but he’s not really happy.
“His agent has been looking around a bit and he would like to come and play in England. For Man United the Radamel Falcao experience hasn’t worked so they’ll be looking for another striker.
“Cavani is right up on their list and he would be willing to go there if the clubs could agree a deal. He won’t come cheap though.
“PSG bought him for £62m, he’s obviously not worth that anymore, but Man United could sign him for around £40m. It would be money well spent.
“He’s on around £200,000-a-week and he’d be happy with that at Man United. Without Falcao and Robin van Persie, Manchester United would easily be able to afford that.
“He’s not having a great season but he would be a very good signing for Manchester United.”
