Manchester United striker Robin van Persie could have an offer from Galatasaray.

Galatasaray have confirmed they are interested in signing Manchester United striker Robin van Persie this summer.

Van Persie, 31, is entering the final 12 months of his contract at Old Trafford and while he has suggested he is happy to see out the remainder of his deal, he recently admitted he is in the dark over his future.

The Netherlands international was briefly linked with Lazio before the Serie A club distanced themselves from a move, citing the striker's wages as a major stumbling block.

And while Galatasaray are also wary of spending beyond their means, manager Hamza Hamzoglu admits it would be difficult to turn down the chance to sign the ex-Arsenal captain.

"We want to sign players who will improve the squad and excite our fans," Hamzoglu told Fanatik, as translated by turkish-football.com.

"No manager would be able to say no to Van Persie. However, we cannot spend beyond our means. We hope to come to an agreement with him."

Van Persie will be 32 by the time the 2015-16 season begins and registered just 10 goals last season – his worst return since joining the club from Arsenal in 2012.

After suffering an ankle injury in the 2-1 defeat to Swansea City in February the Dutchman went on to start just one more game for the club last season.

With his status at the club unclear, van Persie recently admitted in quotes attributed to Goal that his future is uncertain.

"It is a separate, difficult situation," he said. "A new situation is a better word. I have to think, in a realist way. This is a decision that I have to make. My ambition for the coming years is to play. If not, I'll make the best of the situation."
