Southampton have reportedly agreed a £5.1m deal to sign Malaga and Spain striker Juanmi, according to Sky Sports.
The Saints met the 22-year-old’s buy-out clause on Sunday after weeks of negotiations and it is understood he is to undergo a medical in England ahead of a long-term deal.
Juanmi, whose full name is Juan Miguel Jimenez Lopez, was also attracting interest from Aston Villa and Real Sociedad, but he will join Southampton’s attacking ranks which currently boasts the likes of Graziano Pelle and Sadio Mane.
The forward became Malaga’s youngest ever goalscorer in 2010, and was rewarded for his fine form over the last 12 months with his international debut against the Netherlands in March.
