QPR need ‘miraculous run of form’ to avoid Premier League drop, admits Ramsey

Queen Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey admits his side need to hit a “miraculous run of form” in their remaining eight games to avoid a second Premier League relegation in three years.

The Super Hoops remain in the bottom-three following a 2-1 defeat to Everton at Loftus Road on Sunday, where on-loan winger Aaron Lennon netted a 77th minute winner after Eduardo Vargas' goal cancelled out Seamus Coleman's opener.

It was QPR's fifth loss in a row since Ramsey was appointed successor to Harry Redknapp, and one which leaves the London strugglers four points adrift of safety on 22 points ahead of crunch visits to fellow basement battlers West Brom and Aston Villa.

After those two games, Rangers face a nightmare run of clashes with Chelsea, West Ham, Liverpool and Manchester City, before finishing the season at home to Newcastle and away to Leicester.

"I don't think we need a miracle but we do need a miraculous run of form to get us out of this," Ramsey said.

"But I think we're capable of doing that. How many points do we need? I think four wins out of eight will probably keep us up this season. I think it'll be a low total."

Ramsey added: "We need six points against West Brom and Villa.

"There's no point in saying, 'we're going to go there and try to get a point', we need to win games and pretty quickly."
