Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has claimed the Red Devils have failed to learn from recent mistakes in their 0-0 draw against Cambridge United in the FA Cup.
The Dutchman admitted he was pleased with United’s second half display, but revealed his side made all too similar errors in a lacklustre opening 45 minutes.
“We made the same errors as against Yeovil and Queens Park Rangers because we played in the same playing style as our opponents,” Van Gaal said.
“In the second half we played much better, we played along the floor and that is a different style of play.
“It was a pity that we had to wait until half time, but in the second half I was pleased with the performance.”
And the former Holland boss echoed the thoughts of U’s manager Richard Money, praising the organisation of the League Two outfit.
“I have to give credit to this club, Cambridge United, because they played very well, they were well organised with heart and they fought until the end,” he said.
“We are still in the cup and that is the most important thing.”
