Sheffield United vs Tottenham Hotspur, Capital One Cup 2014/15 semi-final second leg: Where to watch live, preview, betting odds and possible XI

Tottenham v Sheffield United

Tottenham Hotspur travel to Sheffield United for the second leg of the semi-final of the Capital One Cup, leading the tie 1-0 from the home leg.

Where to watch live

Kick-off is set for 7:45pm GMT. Live coverage of the game will be on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.

Overview

Sheffield will be confident of pulling off an upset against Tottenham and schedule a date with Chelsea in the finals after an inspired performance at White Hart Lane. Andrew Townsend's penalty was the difference between the two sides as Spurs huffed and huffed into full time, but are expected to put in a much better performance this time around.

Sheffield made eight changes in their 1-1 draw against Preston in the FA Cup after a barrage of fixtures, which otherwise could have been extremely taxing on the team. Nigel Clough's team are the only ones representing the Capital One Cup from a lower league, with Tottenham, Chelsea and Liverpool competing for a top four spot.

Liverpool were shown the door by Chelsea, where Ivanovic's header in extra time saw the Reds' dream of qualifying to Wembley blow up in flames.

Meanwhile, Tottenham's only hope of securing a trophy this season, rests in the Capital One Cup, having been shown the door in the FA Cup by Leicester City, where they made nine changes to the first team. It was among the many upsets on Saturday in the fourth round, which saw Chelsea, Manchester City, Southampton and Swansea knocked out of the competition.

Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping for a much better performance from his men if they have to make it to the finals, which would give them a major boost, especially with a top-four race on the agenda with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester United and Southampton embroiled in the chase.

What managers say

Nigel Clough: "I read some quotes from Bradford players saying the Friday night game, where Cambridge drew 0-0 at home against Manchester United, a brilliant performance and result, gave them inspiration and belief. And we are going to try to use this weekend for the same sort of motivation. But the other side of that is that it will have put Spurs on high alert - if last Wednesday didn't already - as lower-league teams can cause you a problem [as a top-flight team]."

Mauricio Pochettino: "It is the most important game because it is the chance to play in a final at Wembley. It is important to have the opportunity to win a cup in March. I think that is very important and would be a very good thing for the club. We need to play better than Sheffield, show more energy than Sheffield and try to fight," Pochettino said. "For me, we need to go there thinking it is 0-0. I believe we will need to score. We have to forget about the first leg and show the mentality to win."
