Manchester United have been handed a massive boost in their ongoing pursuit of Gareth Bale as the star forward is reportedly being pushed out of Real Madrid.

The 25-year-old joined the Spanish capital club from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2013 and has won the Copa del Rey and the Champions League in his debut season, scoring goals in both the finals.

According to Le 10 Sport, the Welshman is set for a summer exit and Louis van Gaal's side are preparing a bid to bring Bale back to the Premier League. The former Tottenham star is yet to be as decisive as Cristiano Ronaldo at Santiago Bernabeu.

After Real's defeat at the hands of Valencia earlier this month, Bale was made a scapegoat and labelled "selfish" by the Spanish press. However, the Portuguese international defended his teammate and played down the suggestions.

Despite Ronaldo's latest comments on Bale, the Wales international has been continued to be linked with a move away from his current employers, with United waiting to jump on the opportunity to sign Bale.

The Mirror reports that United are keen on securing the services of the Real forward at the end of the season. Bale, who is valued to be around £100m, will be allowed to make a switch to Old Trafford if the 10-time European champions can acquire the services of David De Gea.

De Gea's contract at Old Trafford runs out in the summer of 2016 and Van Gaal is confident that he will sign a new deal. Despite that, United are hoping that they can land Bale by letting the Madrid-born keeper join Real. The Red Devils will put De Gea plus £50m to make sure the deal takes shape.

Meanwhile, Bale's departure from Real will see them shift their focus to Chelsea star Eden Hazard. The Spanish capital club believes the Belgium international is a cheaper option to Bale and will make an approach to sign him from the funds raised by the sale of their player.

United could strengthen their squad in the summer by adding Bale to the team, and at the same time, the Red Devils can also put a dent on Chelsea's hopes of keeping Hazard at Stamford Bridge.
