Radamel Falcao's miserable loan move to Manchester United has plumbed new depths with the Colombian selected to play for the club's Under-21 team on Tuesday.
Falcao, who has scored just four goals in 20 appearances since completing his loan move from Monaco last September, has been an unused substitute for United's last two senior outings against Newcastle and Arsenal.
But with manager Louis van Gaal keen to keep the 29-year-old sharp ahead of Sunday's Premier League encounter with Spurs at Old Trafford, the former Porto and Atletico Madrid striker has been named among the youngsters for the FA Premier League Under-21 clash against Tottenham at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.

United have paid a £6m loan fee for Falcao, plus £265,000-a-week wages for the player who was one of the most-feared forwards in world football prior to a cruciate ligament injury suffered in January 2014.
Van Gaal has first option on making Falcao a permanent signing in the summer, but with United and Monaco agreeing a £43.2m fee, it is unlikely that the English club will go ahead with the deal at that fee.
Falcao has not scored for United since the 3-1 Premier League victory at home to Leicester on January 31.

Meanwhile, fellow first-team squad members James Wilson, Victor Valdes and Rafael da Silva have also been named in the Under-21 squad for Tuesday's game.
Premier League rules allow three over-age players to turn out for the Under-21s and Van Gaal has selected the likes of Michael Carrick, Luke Shaw, Adnan Januzaj, Ashley Young and Jonny Evans in the second string this season.
