Manchester United legend Roy Keane has urged Louis van Gaal to re-sign former midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

The 21-year-old left Old Trafford on a free transfer and signed for Juventus in 2012. Since making a switch to Italy, he has been one of the best midfielders in the world and played a crucial role in helping the Old Lady win the Scudetto in the last two seasons.

Pogba's form has seen him being linked with a move to top European clubs. Along with United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are all reportedly interested in signing the talented player.

Keane, who was instrumental for United in the midfield during his playing days, believes the French international could solve the Red Devils' midfield woes.

"I think that United should sign Paul Pogba for they need a presence and physical player in midfield," Keane is quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

"Pogba knows the league, is big and strong and is playing brilliantly for Juventus. People say United can't get Pogba but they should try."

The Italian club have already admitted defeat in keeping their player beyond this season. Pogba's agent Mino Raiola revealed his client has very nice memories of United, opening the door for a potential return to Old Trafford.

Pogba is aware of the growing interest from several clubs for his services. The midfielder admitted the recent speculation can turn his head, but the former United man wants to keep focusing on winning silverware with Juventus.

"I think I need to focus on just my football because these issues [regarding my future] can drive you crazy," Pogba explained.

"If you want to know something about my future, ask my agent. I'm only focused on my game. I only think of winning the Scudetto and that if I want to be a better player, I have to work hard every day."

Juventus are leading the league table with 61 points after 26 games, 11 points ahead of second place AS Roma. Pogba is on course to win his third consecutive league title with the Turin club this season.
